Heartwood DB-65 5 String Tone Ring Banjo
Good value for money mid-priced banjo. 24 tension rods, brass tone ring, twin co-ordinator rods.
The Heartwood DB-65/G is a great middle priced banjo. Let me give you a little taste of its quality….
24 chromed tensioners hold the chrome plated tension hoop over a frosted Weatherking banjo head which in turn sits on a ¾” ply maple rim.
Under the head is a bell brass tone ring with Gibson style drilled holes and via a chromed flange plate the fully bound high gloss mahogany resonator attaches to the body with 4 traditional thumb screws which in turn covers the twin chrome co-ordinator rods.
Once again the banjo neck is mahogany with an ornate mother of pearl inlay into a rosewood finger board.
The neck is fully bound in an ivory colour with position black dot markers at frets 1, 3,5,7,10,12,15,17,and 19.
Also within the neck construction is an adjustable truss rod which is protected by a 3 screw bell shaped truss rod cover. A 5th string geared peg sits proudly on the side of the banjo neck..
Complete with chrome plated armrest which is secured on twin brackets, planetary geared machines boasting white pearl buttons, 5/8” 3 footed maple ebony tipped bridge and a Presto chrome tailpiece preferred by most professional players for the traditional Scruggs bluegrass sound which has a hinged cover for easy string changes.
